The easy-access overlook that anchors this whole stretch of the mountain — part of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, with views across the Tennessee River Gorge and surrounding ridges. No hike required to see it, but the Cumberland Trail heads out from here toward Julia Falls Overlook and Edwards Point for anyone who wants to keep going.

Photography tip: wide gorge views work well at sunrise, when the valley often still holds morning haze.

Ample trailhead parking, picnic shelters and restrooms on site. This is also the southernmost trailhead of the Cumberland Trail — Julia Falls Overlook and Edwards Point continue on from here for a longer hike.
