A 353-acre state park on Chickamauga Lake — fishing, birdwatching, boating and paddling, trails, camping and picnicking. Established in 1938 as a segregated recreational facility for African Americans, one of the first in the state, and built largely by Black units of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Photography tip: the CCC-era stonework and lakefront views both make good subjects, alongside the park's real historical significance.
